CBOE to Expand its Cryptocurrency Offering

Cboe Global Markets, operator of the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), has just announced it intends to expand its cryptocurrency offerings on its digital asset platform, Bloomberg has reported.

The assets currently available on the platform include Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin and USDC.

Edward Tilly, CEO of the company, has said the decision is due to the demand from institutional players for reliable counterparties in the industry after the collapse of FTX.

Recall that Cboe Global Markets created its cryptocurrency trading platform after acquiring regulated platform ErisX in May last year.

CBOE became the first traditional exchange to launch Bitcoin futures trading in December 2017, a few days ahead of its competitor, CME.
