Ripple Launches a Platform for Issuing CBDCs and Stablecoins

Fintech startup Ripple has just announced the launch of the Ripple CBDC platform, an end-to-end solution for central banks, governments and financial institutions to issue national digital currencies and stablecoins.

This platform will reportedly be able to be used for wholesale and retail CBDCs based on private blockchain or the issuance of stablecoins.

The solution is based on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

The platform will allow issuers to manage and customize the entire asset lifecycle using multiple signatures, from issuance and distribution to redemption and burning.

The operators of the Ripple CBDC platform will be able to manage agreements between institutions and participate in the distribution of central bank digital currencies or stablecoins.

The users of assets issued using the platform are entitled to expect "secure token storage, payment and receipt of payments in the same manner as implemented in various applications."
