US Markets Celebrating Thanksgiving Day

Wall Street is in Thanksgiving Day feasting , while the rest of the world traded relatively mixed. The U.S. dollar traded at a one-month low today , with the euro advancing on the back of solid business data, principally from the German economy, which c ontinues growing.


Shares of SandRidge Energy Inc. (SD) jumped more than 5% in after-hours market session, ahead of Carl Icahn (Trades, Portfolio)?s long position, a new 13.5% stake. He also said that he will vote against the acquisition of Bonanza Creek Energy (BCEI).

The main European stock markets traded mixed. The U.K."s FTSE lost 0.02% and the Germany"s Dax declined 0.05%, while the France"s CAC rose 0.5% and the Spain"s Ibex climbed 0.19%.

In Asia, Japan"s Nikkei gained 0.48%, Hong Kong"s Hang Seng closed down 0.99%, India"s BSE Sensexinched up 0.08% and China?s Shanghai slid 2.29%.
