WILMINGTON, Del., June 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Navient Foundation, the company’s philanthropic fund, contributed $10,000 to the Rose Hill Community Center, Inc.’s Teen Society program. The program provides students, grades fourth through 12, with financial literacy, educational and cultural awareness resources and tools needed to lead a drug-free and healthy lifestyle.
“With the support of Navient, the Rose Hill Community Center, Inc. has been able to expose local youth to a variety of experiences from cultural outings to college readiness workshops,” said Sheila Berkel, executive director, Rose Hill Community Center, Inc. “The center also provides participants with resources and tools needed to maintain financial sustainability.”
The grant will support financial literacy workshops on saving and budgeting, managing debts, paying for college, and entrepreneurship.

Since 1980, the Rose Hill Community Center, Inc. has provided services to seniors, young adults and children in underserved communities throughout New Castle, Delaware. In addition to financial literacy workshops, the center provides housing assistance and healthy meals to those in need.
