A snapshot of the % changes of the major currencies vs. each other

It is getting to the end of the week and the snapshot of the strongest and weakest of the major currencies shows that the CHF is the strongest, while the AUD is the weakest.

The strongest and weakest is calculated by taking the % changes of each of the major currencies vs each other and summing the changes. So the CHF has moved higher vs all the major currencies. The AUD has fallen vs. all the major currencies.

Looking at the sums, they were the runaway leaders.

The AUDCHF was the biggest % changer at -3.36%. The pair has moved down -242 pips to reach that -3.36% fall.

Looking at the hourly chart of the AUDCHF, the price decline picked up steam on Tuesday - away from the 100 hour MA - and really got going on Wednesday to the downside. We are closing the week near the low levels for the week.

Although the AUDCHF is the biggest % changer, the biggest pips mover was the GBPAUD which moved higher by 513 pips on the week or 2.93%.

Looking at the daily chart below, on the way higher the price surged above the downward sloping trend line (at 1.76377), the 200 day MA (at 1.7768), the 100 day MA (at 1.7800) and the 50% of the move down from the March 2018 high (at 1.7894). Like the AUDCHF, the pair is closing the week near the extreme for the week (in this case the high). It is also near the 61.8% of the move down from the March 2018 high at 1.80387.
