USD moves higher with GBPUSD leading the way.

A snapshot of the forex market at midday is showing that the USD is now the strongest (it was the CAD). The GBP remains the weakest - it was the weakest earlier in the day. The fall in the GBP has increased in the North American morning session.

In addition to the GBPUSD tumble, the EURUSD, AUDUSD and NZDUSD have been pressured. Looking at the changes and ranges below, the AUDUSD and NZDUSD are trading at session lows with changes of 0.56% and 0.73% respectively. Earlier in the day the changes were only 0.17% and 0.2% respectively.

In other markets, the snapshot currently shows:

  • Spot gold $-4.80 or -0.3% at $1222. That is little change from the opening levels
  • WTI crude oil futures are trading down $.20 or -0.29% at $68.92. The early North American session level was at $69.14
  • Bitcoin on Coinbase is down $43 at $6395 (was at $6396.64 earlier)

In the European and US stock markets, the only gainer is the Nasdaq which is currently up 0.23%. Spain's Ibex fell near -1%. The Dow industrial average is currently down -0.77% and trading at session lows for the day.
