Share market update: Metal shares shine; Hindustan Copper surges 14%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading with gains in Friday's morning session.

Shares of Hindustan Copper (up 13.93 per cent) , MOIL (up 8.54 per cent) , National Aluminium Company (up 5.69 per cent) and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (up 4.92 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

NMDC (up 3.47 per cent) , Hindustan Zinc (up 2.43 per cent) , Welspun Corp (up 1.91 per cent) and Vedanta (up 1.72 per cent) too were trading with gains.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 1.10 per cent up at 2437.35 around 10:34 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 45.50 points at 11,631.85 while the BSE Sensex was up 163.54 points at 39,215.60.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, BHEL, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SAIL, NBCC , ZEEL, GMR Infra and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
