Stocks in the news: DHFL, SpiceJet, Vedanta, CCD, ONGC and Vodafone Idea

NEW DELHI: Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 25.50 points, or 0.21 per cent, higher at 11,890.50, indicating a negative start for Dalal Street. Here are a few stocks which may buzz the most in today’s trade:

Earnings today: Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Vedanta, Vodafone Idea, Grasim Industries, Power Finance Corporation, Page Industries, Union Bank of India, Future Retail, Mphasis, GMR Infra and CESC will be among companies that will disclose quarterly results on Thursday.

DHFL: In a major relief to financial lenders, Bombay High Court has allowed DHFL to make payments to banks and NBFCs that have securitisation arrangements with the stressed mortgage financiers.

SpiceJet: The airline’s losses widened to Rs 462.6 crore in September quarter from Rs 389.4 crore in the year-ago quarter, which the airline said were due to new accounting norms.

Coffee Day Enterprises: The company reported a multi-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,567.20 crore for the June quarter, helped by an exceptional gain from stake sale in IT firm Mindtree.

Vedanta: The company said it has emerged as the highest bidder for Jamkhani coal block in Sundargarh district, Odisha, in the 10th tranche of captive coal block auction conducted by the government.

New India Assurance: State-owned general insurer New India Assurance reported a 61.3 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 529.97 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.

RCom: The resolution professional (RP) of Reliance Communications (RCom) has extended the deadline for submission of bids for the bankrupt company to next Friday after only two bidders, Bharti Group and Varde Partners, submitted bids at the close of the previous deadline of November 11, according to two bankers.

Tata Motors: The company said its board has okayed the pricing and tenure of $300 million (over Rs 2,163.37 crore) fund raise, through bonds to be issued later this month.

Blue Star: Air-conditioning and commercial refrigeration firm Blue Star Ltd on Wednesday reported a 55.74 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 37.16 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2019.

National Aluminium Co: Nalco reported a consolidated loss of Rs 28.25 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2019.

MMTC: State-owned MMTC reported a loss of Rs 47.78 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, mainly due to lower income.

Cadila Healthcare: The company reported a 74.32 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 107.2 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.
