Share market update: FMCG shares trade lower; Godrej Industries down 1%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading with losses in Tuesday's morning session.

Shares of Godrej Industries (down 1.26 per cent ) , Dabur India (down 1.16 per cent ) , United Breweries (down 0.97 per cent ) and Hindustan Unilever (down 0.93 per cent ) were trading with losses.

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (down 0.60 per cent ) , ITC (down 0.46 per cent ) , Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare (down 0.33 per cent ) , United Spirits (down 0.32 per cent ) and Britannia Industries (down 0.12 per cent ) too were trading lower.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.52 per cent down at 31,001.65 around 10:46 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 35.20 points at 11,919.70 while the BSE Sensex was up 134.12 points at 40,418.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI Life Insurance Company, Bharti Airtel, Corp Bank, Glenmark Pharma, Ashok Leyland, Bharti Infratel and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
