Crude oil inventories in the US rose by 3.165 million barrels in the week ended March 22, 2024, defying market expectations of a 1.275 million decrease, data from the EIA Petroleum Status Report showed. Also, crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub went up by 2.107 million barrels, following an 18 thousand barrel decrease. Furthermore, gasoline stocks increased by 1.299 million, against forecasts of a 1.65 million fall.
