- Roku's (NASDAQ:ROKU) recent push for original content surges on, with the streaming gatekeeper acquiring home-improvement TV brand This Old House Ventures from private-equity firm TZP Group.
- That nets it global distribution rights along with subsidiary brands (including the TV programs This Old House and Ask This Old House), the library of more than 1,500 episodes, digital assets and the production studio.
- Current seasons of the two shows (Season 42 of This Old House, and season 19 of Ask This Old House) will be available on the Roku Channel as on-demand episodes, arriving after they air on local PBS stations.
- And terms weren't disclosed, but Variety reports Roku is paying under $100M for the assets.
