According to recent regulatory filings, MicroStrategy has purchased another 1,914 Bitcoins for $94.2 million in cash. The company’s Bitcoin holdings have grown presently to 124,391 Bitcoin or nearly $5.9 billion at current prices.
Noelle Acheson, the head of market insights at Genesis Trading, recently spoke about the “strong signs” of institutional crypto investment growth accelerating in 2022. The expectations for the incoming year are mounting – what are the early predictions for Bitcoin and Altcoins?
At press time, Bitcoin was exchanging hands at $47,019, marginally up on the day.
Bitcoin (BTC)
Bitcoin traders are presently looking towards the first week of 2022 for a fresh recovery in the price. Alex Kruger, a crypto trader, and economist mentioned that Bitcoin has historically performed well in the first week of the year, referring to this as the “first week of the year effect.”
He stated what he expects in January: “Still expect strong crypto upmarket in early Jan driven by fund inflows. Then risk-off ahead of the next FOMC (Jan/26) if the next inflation print comes in too hot (Jan/12)”.
WalletInvestor forecasts an increase of 75% in 2022, taking BTC price near the $83,000 level by the end of the year. Coin price forecast believes Bitcoin price will climb to $63,171 in the first half of 2022, then in the second half, BTC price would add $18,951 and close the year at $82,122, which is +73% to the current price.
XRP (XRP)
XRP price started 2021 at $0.2221 following a drastic price drop amid the Ripple-SEC lawsuit. At press time, Ripple is trading at $0.84, representing a 282% increase from the start of the year. WalletInvestor forecasts an increase of 82.99% for XRP in 2022.
Higher price forecasts up to $4 are in place as CEO Brad Garlinghouse sees the Ripple SEC lawsuit concluding in 2022.
Cardano (ADA)
Cardano started 2021 at $0.18. At press time, Cardano traded at $1.36, representing a 650% from the start of the year. Coin price forecast believes ADA price will climb in the first half of 2022 to $1.53. WalletInvestor forecasts an increase of 138.22% in 2022, taking ADA price near the $3.18 level by the end of the year.
IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson mentioned that more than 175 projects are building on Cardano and 11 projects have been earmarked for launch in the first quarter of 2022. Higher Forecasts of up to $6 are in place as the ADA price might set for an explicit rally amid growing fundamentals.
Dogecoin (DOGE)
Dogecoin price started 2021 at $0.0232. At press time, Dogecoin traded at $0.1720, representing an increase of 641% from the beginning of the year.
Dogecoin Foundation and Ethereum Cofounder Vitalik Buterin recently announced the creation of a unique Dogecoin proposal that will bring “Community Staking” PoS to anyone willing to participate. After the release and full implementation of the GigaWallet, the foundation will then focus on the development of community staking.
WalletInvestor forecasts an increase of 138.22% in 2022, higher forecasts of $1 are in place.
Gala (GALA)
From late October to November, the spotlight shifted to gaming and metaverse tokens after Facebook announced its rebrand to Meta. Gala, a blockchain gaming platform, remains a top beneficiary, up an incredible 80041.9% in the year, according to CoinGecko data. Gala (GALA) traded at $0.459 at press time.
WalletInvestor forecasts an increase of 161% in 2022, taking GALA’s price near the $1.17 level by the end of the year.
