BHP (BHP+1.2%) says it has secured non-binding memorandums of understanding with importers to cover 100% of future production from its Jansen potash project in Saskatchewan.
The agreements are typically with major buyers across South America, Central America, south Asia, China and North America, BHP says in presentation materials.
BHP says its expanded marketing team will have more than five years to build relationships and secure binding sales ahead of first production expected in 2027.
The company says its strategy aims to "replicate tried and tested model of marketing directly to major customers via regional offices leveraging BHP's broader commercial resources."
