- The agreements are typically with major buyers across South America, Central America, south Asia, China and North America, BHP says in presentation materials.
- BHP says its expanded marketing team will have more than five years to build relationships and secure binding sales ahead of first production expected in 2027.
- The company says its strategy aims to "replicate tried and tested model of marketing directly to major customers via regional offices leveraging BHP's broader commercial resources."
- Last month, BHP approved up to $5.7B in investment to develop the Jansen project.
