The seller of a 52m (170ft) Benetti luxury superyacht named VIANNE says that 90% of the sale price can be paid in any major cryptocurrency — BTC, ETH, DOGE, SOL, FTM, BNB — as well as with top tier non-fungible tokens (NFTs), such as those from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection. The 10% deposit must be paid in EUR/USD.

Benetti is “an Italian shipbuilding and boat building company based in Viareggio, Livorno, and Fano, owned by Azimut.” Benetti “designs and constructs motoryachts, and is one of the leading builders of custom superyachts, having won the Showboats International magazine “shipyard number 1″ award six times in a row, the only yard to have done so.”

According to a press release published yesterday, VIANNE, which costs EUR 8,900,000, is “a renowned steel hulled superyacht with aluminum superstructure built to ABS classification with exterior design by Stefano Natucci”.

Here are some more details about this boat:

A superyacht with transatlantic range, she recently underwent a full technical and cosmetic refit in 2021 at the Italian shipyard Arpeca and completed her latest class and flag surveys in 2021. She is commercially classed and available for charters. VIANNE can accommodate 12 guests in 5 staterooms and is crewed by 12 experienced crew members, led by well-respected Italian Captain Alberto Zambelli. She also recently received new Ralph Lauren branded furniture inside and out, with a refresh of her watertoys, including a new waterslide and floating water deck with pool.

The press release went on to say that VIANNE is “available for viewing by appointment in the Caribbean and Florida”. It is also available on the charter market at a cost of $196,000 per week.

The owner’s family office told CoinDesk (by email):

In the last 12 months, especially, we have leaned towards transacting using crypto, where relevant and possible. We are in the process of procuring a larger yacht for the owner, and if/when we do transact, we would definitely be paying in crypto (stablecoins, [altcoins], etc.) if it is an option.
