Samsung to Launch NFT Trading Support App for New Smart TVs

Trading

Korean multinational electronics company Samsung Electronics revealed in a recent announcement that its new smart TVs would provide NFT (non-fungible token) support. According to the announcement, The Frame, Neo QLED, and MICRO LED models will let users purchase and trade NFTs.

The announcement described the NFT support as an application that will allow integrated and intuitive support for trading and discovering NFTs. In a recent press release quoted by The Verge, Samsung said the rise in NFT demand directly births the need for a supporting landscape. It also describes the upcoming offering:

“In 2022, Samsung is introducing the world’s first TV screen-based NFT explorer and marketplace aggregator, a groundbreaking platform that lets you browse, purchase, and display your favorite art – all in one place.”

In addition to direct NFT support, Samsung says that the platform will benefit both creators and potential buyers. Creators will be able to “share their art with the world” for prospective purchases from buyers. On the other hand, each buyer will easily preview an NFT before making a purchase. The buyer will also access the NFT’s history and specific blockchain metadata.

The Samsung app will also feature smart calibration, essentially adjusting the TV’s display settings so that the NFT shows according to the creator’s preset specifics. This way, creators can rest assured that all prospective buyers view the NFT as intended.
