- Macy's (M +2.5%) plans for a minor reduction in store hours for the remainder of January to adjust for staff shortages, which may tied to positive COVID cases.
- The department store operator will be open from Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., compared to a prior schedule at most locations of an opening at 10 a.m. and closing at 9 p.m. Store hours for Friday through Sunday when a majority of in-person sales take place will be the same.
- "We will continue to monitor the situation and follow the CDC and jurisdictional guidelines as well as keep enhanced safety and wellness procedures in place," states a Macy's spokesperson.
- Shares of Macy's are up more than 38% over the last six months, but still trade at a low valuation compared to peers.
