Bitcoin’s Hashrate Now at An All-time High

BTC

The Bitcoin hashrate has now risen to a new all-time high according to reports. On Thursday, the leading crypto’s hashrate crossed 216 exahashes per second (Ex/s), an increase from its previous all-time high of 207 Ex/s.

Bitcoin achieved this amid an internet blackout in Kazakhstan earlier in January. In addition, the perceived stumbling blocks from the BTC mining ban in Kosovo did not impede the crypto from attaining this new record.

BTC hashrate has seemingly come a long way since the sweeping ban on crypto mining in China cut the network back by 50%. Due to this, Bitfarms recently stated that BTC’s current price is below its cost of production. In fact, Bitfarms Founder and CEO Emiliano Grodzki said in a statement:

“With the dip in BTC while mining hardware prices remain high, we seized the opportunity to move cash into BTC. We continue to be committed to executing our operational growth strategy and delivering our goal of 8 exahash/second by the end of 2022.”

Grodzki also made the statement in reference to Bitfarm’s latest BTC acquisition to begin the year. A week ago, the stock traded bitcoin miner announced the acquisition of 1,000 BTC worth $43 million in the first week of January.

BTC is currently changing hands at $42,499.74.
