Meta Exploring a New NFT Feature on Facebook & Instagram Profiles

Meta

Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is reportedly looking to integrate non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Facebook and Instagram. The new feature will allow users of both social media platforms to display their NFTs on their Facebook and Instagram profiles. According to the same report, Meta is already working on prototypes that will allow users to mint collectible tokens. In addition, the multinational tech conglomerate is also considering establishing an NFT marketplace. Here, users will be able to freely buy and sell digital assets.

It is worth noting that nothing is set in stone yet, and all Meta’s NFT-promoting plans could change as development steepens. Notwithstanding, Meta appears to be scaling up its workforce in a bid to adequately handle planned future engagements.

Meta rebranded from Facebook in a bid to embrace and align itself with the emerging metaverse. The company opines that the new moniker encapsulates everything beyond social media, as it is now exploring. For instance, Meta announced last year that it would create a virtual world connecting physical experiences to online social experiences. Furthermore, the company also released previews of its haptic gloves late last year. According to Meta, the gloves may play an integral part in how users interact with its planned virtual world.
