That follows the announcement by the European Commission here to seek a ban on Russian oil.
The lawmaker in question probably isn't wrong. There has to some way for Europe to satisfy its demand conditions and it isn't so easy as to seek a like-for-like alternative from elsewhere. At the end of the day, it may be some roundabout way of coming back to the same problem but we will see.
