LONDON (Reuters) – There is more food price inflation yet to come through, the boss of Sainsbury’s, Britain’s second largest grocer, said on Thursday.
“We’re battling really hard to keep prices down but there is more inflation in the system to come,” Chief Executive Simon Roberts told reporters after Sainsbury’s reported first half results.
He highlighted the impact of higher energy costs in food production, as well as higher fertiliser and labour costs.
